BRD is proud to be the implementer of Community Engagement through SBC and Accountability to the Affected Population in Afghanistan in Partnership with UNCEF Afghanistan Office. In the current dire humanitarian crises, any humanitarian response should be initiated with full participation of local communities, they should be listened to and have a meaningful role in processes and issues that affect them. To address the issue BRD has facilitated effective engagement of local communities, to promotes positive and measurable changes toward the fulfilment of children’s rights, through implementation of the SBC.
This response was based on; (i) BRD commitment to preserving gains, protecting and advancing the rights of children (boys and girls), and supporting the resilience of Afghan communities to meet lifesaving needs. With key objective bellow:
Develop the SBC capacity of programme staff, frontliners of government project and members of community structures (924 male and femal); Implementation of Community Engagement and Social Mobilization interventions towards sustainable social and behaviour change. Increase accountability to the affected population by ensuring safe, accessible, and inclusive communication, engagement, and feedback platforms.
